Hello and welcome to the world of investing and to Pearler! It’s great to see that you’re already exploring some ETF options. ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds) are a popular choice among investors for their simplicity, diversification, and cost-effectiveness. Let’s briefly discuss the ETFs you’ve mentioned:
VDHG (Vanguard Diversified High Growth Index ETF): This is a popular choice in Australia for those looking for a diversified portfolio through a single investment. VDHG is composed of a mix of different Vanguard index funds, providing exposure to a wide range of asset classes, including shares, property, and bonds primarily from Australia and around the world. It’s designed for high growth with a higher allocation towards equities.
DHHF (BetaShares Diversified All Growth ETF): Similar to VDHG, DHHF is an all-equity ETF that aims to provide long-term capital growth. It invests across Australian, global developed markets, and emerging markets equities. It’s a good option if you’re looking for a growth-oriented investment with 100% allocation to equities, differing slightly from VDHG in terms of asset allocation.
QQQ (Invesco QQQ Trust): This ETF tracks the NASDAQ-100 Index, which includes 100 of the largest non-financial companies listed on the NASDAQ stock market. It’s heavily weighted towards technology companies, making it a good choice if you’re looking to specifically increase your exposure to the tech sector. However, it’s less diversified across different sectors compared to VDHG and DHHF.
When choosing an ETF, consider factors like your investment goals, risk tolerance, and the sectors or regions you want exposure to. Each of these ETFs has its own set of benefits and considerations:
- VDHG is great for those who want a broad, diversified exposure with a mix of asset classes.
- DHHF might appeal if you prefer a 100% equity alloc

You can see the most popular ETFs among Pearler investors on the shares page, they are basically ranked in order of popularity I believe: https://pearler.com/explore/invest/shares
The ‘all in one’ options like DHHF and VDHG are pretty hard to beat in terms of simplicity and diversification.
I personally invest in VAS and VGS in case you’re curious, but lots of good options.
