Firsthand Technology Value Fund, Inc. (the Fund) is an externally managed, closed-end, non-diversified management investment company. The Fund's investment objective is to seek long-term growth of capital, principally by seeking capital gains on its equity and equity-related investments. Under normal circumstances, the Fund invests at least 80% of its total assets for investment purposes in technology companies. In addition, the Fund invest at least 70% of its assets in privately held companies and public companies. The Fund’s primary focus is to invest in illiquid private technology and cleantech companies. It also invests in micro-cap publicly traded companies. Its other investments also include investments in high-yield bonds, distressed debt, or securities of public companies that are actively traded; and securities of companies located outside of the United States. The Fund’s investment adviser is Firsthand Capital Management, Inc. (FCM).
