Goldman Sachs MLP Income Opportunities Fund is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fund seeks a high level of total return with an emphasis on current distributions to shareholders. The Fund seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing primarily in master limited partnership (MLP) and other energy investments. Under normal market conditions, the Fund will invest at least 80% of its managed assets in MLPs and other energy investments. The Fund focuses its investments in the energy sector, with an emphasis on midstream MLP investments, including companies that are engaged in the treatment, gathering, compression, processing, transportation, transmission, fractionation, storage and terminalling of natural gas, natural gas liquids, crude oil, refined products or coal. Goldman Sachs Asset Management, L.P. serves as the investment advisor to the Fund.
